About
Anand, 29 is a Mumbai based musician and has actively been in the city's live performing space since the last 10 years. Since 2015, Anand has toured and performed with several bands and projects across India. Apart from being a regular live performer and a session bass player, he also is a studio recording artist contributing to various original music releases.
In June 2017, Anand studied music at one of the leading institutions for music education in India i.e. The True School of Music, where he learnt Ensemble Performance, Music Theory & Ear Training, Music History, Music Business & Bass Guitar Techniques. At this school, under the tutelage of Marios Menelaou (B.Mus - Jazz Upright Bass, Conservatory of Amsterdam) for bass guitar, he acquired a Diploma as a Pro Performer in Bass Guitar in June 2020.
In November 2019, Anand was appointed as a part-time teacher at The True School of Music and since August 2021, he has been a full-time senior faculty teaching Bass Guitar, Ensemble Performance and Ear Training at the True School of Music.
Anand grew up listening to iconic bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd and had the knack to be a musician from a very young age. He played the acoustic guitar in his teenage, slowly developing the desire to switch to the bass guitar.
HOW I'VE MADE IT
Experience
Anand has traveled across India and performed at some big venues and stages. Among which, a few noteworthy venues are The Humming Tree, Bangalore. Strawberry Fields Festival, Bangalore. IIT Delhi, Delhi. High Spirits, Pune. Hard Rock Cafe, Andheri. Todi Mill Social, Mumbai. The Habitat, Mumbai. The Quarter, Mumbai.
Having performed at The Times of India, Celebrate Bandra Festival in Mumbai and The Orange Festival of Music in Dambuk, Arunachal Pradesh, Anand has also performed at the NH7 Weekender in Pune which remains to be the biggest live stage performance of his career thus far.
Other than these performances, Anand has done commercial shows at Cafe Asilo, Sofitel, The Sassy Spoon and The Royal Opera House in Mumbai.
In recent times, Anand has featured prominently with some of India’s most reputed and senior figures, performing with legendary music composer and guitarist Leslee Lewis for a private event in Bombay in October 2023. Furthermore, Anand has made two back-to-back stage appearances for Coke Studio Bharat in Phagwara & Chandigarh with Rashmeet Kaur who ranks amongst one of India’s fastest growing and successful artists in October & November 2023. In December 2023, Anand also performed with another renowned and iconic Bollywood singer and artist, Nikhil D’souza for sell-out shows in Shillong and Jorhat in North Eastern India.
Having earned his spot with the aforementioned artists, Anand went on to also perform with both of them at other venues and in different cities, He travelled with Rashmeet Kaur to Goa, Pune and Delhi for corporate events and he performed with Nikhil D’souza in Pune as well.
Vision & Purpose

Being a professional full-time musician for almost 7 years now and having first started to learn music 15 years ago, my vision for music in a country like India is to be able to integrate it with basic education with an aim to make choosing music as a career as viable an option as any profession within the STEM umbrella currently is. As per my experience, doing so is also a necessity considering the level of talent and skill on offer even in India’s most remote corners.
My purpose is to perform music live on as many stages and in as many countries as possible. Other than this, I also want to write, compose and release original music and inspire people just like how I was inspired by my idols.

Nikhil D'Souza is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Mumbai, India, and is now signed to East West Records of Warner Music UK. With chart-topping commercial Bollywood numbers like ‘Mere Bina’, ‘Vaaste’, ‘Sham’, ‘O Gujariya’ & ‘Sang Hoon Tere’ among many others credited to him, Nikhil D’souza is one of the industry’s most sought after singers who has worked extensively with award-winning composers & music directors like Amit Trivedi, Pritam, Shankar Ehsaan Loy & Vishal Shekhar. Apart from his Bollywood achievements, Nikhil also composes his own original music. Nikhil's genre and musical style can be loosely defined as eclectic acoustic guitar-based pop. His songs have a full melodic quality to them due to his use of alternative tunings. Nikhil's major musical influences are Sting and Jeff Buckley. He was the South Asia Soloist Winner at SUTASI '09. Anand has toured and performed with Nikhil across India’s major cities.

Rashmeet Kaur is a singer-songwriter based out of Chandigarh. With accolades such as finishing in the top 6 of SaReGaMa in 2012 & winning "The Remix" - an Amazon Prime Originals music reality show in 2018, Rashmeet has also recently released a 12-song full-length album featuring some of India’s most successful artists. Apart from having some Bollywood hits under her belt already, she recently sang a chartbusting song titled “Ishq Nachaawe” for the Netflix show “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan”. Anand has toured and performed with Rashmeet across India’s major cities.
